Writer/Director/Producer Spike Lee has received 24 Black Reel Award nominations. He won the Black Reel as the Director, Television for Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth in 2013, Producer for Outstanding Motion Picture for Love & Basketball in 2001, won for Outstanding Director for Inside Man in 2007 and won for Outstanding Television Documentary for If God is Willing and da Creek Don’t Rise in 2011.

Lee was also nominated as a Producer four times for Outstanding Motion Picture for Miracle at St. Anna (2007), 25th Hour (2002), Bamboozled (2000) and The Best Man (1999); He also received seven nominations for Outstanding Director for Red Hook Summer (2012), Passing Strange (2009), Miracle at St. Anna (2009), She Hate Me (2005), 25th Hour (2002), Bamboozled (2000) and Summer of Sam (1999); two nominations for Outstanding Documentary for Bad 25 (2012) and Passing Strange (2009); three nominations for Outstanding Screenplay for Red Hook Summer (2012), She Hate Me (2004) and Bamboozled (2000); a nomination for Outstanding Television Movie/Mini-Series for 3 a.m. (2001); and three nominations for Outstanding Directing, TV Movie/Mini-Series for Sucker Free City (2004), Miracle’s Boy (2005) and A Huey P. Newton Story (2001).
